We’ve been longing for peace in South Sudan for a very long time

Many South Sudanese have been killed during the war. I still haven’t lost hope yet. One day South Sudan will have peace. The government has done a lot in 2020 for the sake of peace.

Human rights is something we’ve been longing for as well. Women and children are most often the victims. Cultural values have made women and children vulnerable. Men make most of the decisions. They are always right in everything. This type of thinking has prevented almost 95% of women from expressing their views and pursuing a career. Many girls are denied the right to education because according to our culture they are required to marry. This practice is slowly disappearing since many South Sudanese have started going to school.

I believe that South Sudan will have peace one day and that all human rights will be respected. Each human being has the right of expression, education, to live and to have their own opinion.
